Calling All Divas -- Singers Needed
Come sing with us as we present The Best of WomenSong, Sunday July 31, 1:15 p.m., at Yankee Homecoming, Newburyport, MA. Rehearsals Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15-9:15 p.m., All Saints Church, West Newbury, MA (Rte 113, 1.4 mi w of I-95). Contact , Music Director, if you would like to sing. Who We Are
WomenSong was founded in 2008 to offer women on the North Shore of Massachusetts the opportunity to join together to rehearse and perform pieces composed for all-women ensembles.
The group rehearses and performs under the direction of nationally known pianist, organist and conductor Frances Burmeister. Its members come from across the North Shore, including Newburyport, Haverhill, Beverly, Ipswich, Newbury, Wenham, Amesbury, Georgetown, Andover, North Andover and West Newbury, and Dover, NH.
Our Repertoire
WomenSong has selected an eclectic genre of music to perform, pieces that celebrate the variety of music available for women to sing. The group has selected pieces for concerts ranging from classical composers Brahms, Debussy and Mendelssohn to more contemporary composers, Gwyneth Walker, Joel Hardyk and Eric Whitaker.
